Scene 360 presents “The Art of Interpretation”. We invite you to become an interpreter, leave history books and Google searches aside, we want you to look at art pieces and make your own conclusions—write it in words! What you see and describe, can be just as dazzling as the art in itself.

Imagine if we could read into the minds of each spectator viewing a painting at The Louvre, each explaining what they see or feel. Interpretations will vary often from viewer to viewer, even from the artist’s original message. Art critics analyze work to reveal accurate information of the origins, its purpose. As close to truth as we can get, not all details can be deciphered unless the Artist is willing to share it. Some artists paint with a preplanned idea and others create automatically, sometimes a sub-conscious act, instinct, emotion, or other. An example is the artwork of Rene Magritte, the painter once said “The apple, the wall, and the anonymous man wearing a bowler hat were combined without having an obvious relationship.” Even highlighting this statement about “The Son of Man” (1964), we still try to understand—puzzle-out mysteries, compositions, compare it to our own life experiences or those of others—to determine symbolism to many art pieces from the past to present time.
